Angela Hardie, 65 of Holmdel, passed away after battling ovarian cancer for nearly five years on Saturday, May 28th at her home.
She was born in 1956 to Michael and Josephine (Carucci) Donaruma in Red Bank.
Angela was raised in Hazlet and graduated from St. John Vianney High School. After high school, Angela attended Glassboro College where she earned her BA in Art. She was passionate about pottery and sold many pieces to art galleries in Manhattan and Princeton. She worked many years as a design consultant for local home builders, including the Robertson Douglas Group.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting and growing flowers. Angela loved to cook and her eggplant parmigiana, along with her cinnamon twist Christmas cookies, were a favorite of her family and friends.
Angela loved to celebrate holidays with her family, and continued her many family traditions; including the Seven-Fishes Christmas Eve dinner. Among the many holiday traditions, she enjoyed volunteering with the Raine Foundation.
Angela is predeceased by her sister Catherine Perciaccante, who died in 2016; her parents Josephine and Michael.
Surviving is her husband Don of 42 years and their son Brian Hardie of Holmdel; her brother Benedict and his wife Gail Donaruma of Millsboro, DE, and sister Mary Joan and her husband Skip Werbalis of Cape Coral, FL; her sister-in-law Phyllis Caie Hargrove of Pace, FL.
Angela will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Dawn, Tania & Mike, Kevin & Drew, Robert, Jennifer, & Joann, Tracey & Michael. She will be deeply missed by many dearest friends and Ollie, her Miniature Schnauzer.
Visitation will be from 3-5pm & 7-9pm on Wednesday, June 1st, at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June, 2nd, at 9:15 am at the Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel.
