Ann P. Rankl, 82, of Red Bank, died on Sunday, August 24.
Ann was born and raised in the Bronx, NY to the late Margaret (Harrington) and William Maxwell. After graduating from Cathedral High School in Manhattan, she became a nurse, a passion that she carried throughout her life. She worked at Albert Einstein hospital, where she met her husband. They married at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Yonkers, and raised their family in Holmdel. Once her children were in their teens, Ann returned to school to receive her Bachelor’s Degree. She worked at local healthcare facilities, including Robert Wood Johnson.
Ann enjoyed playing bridge, and mahjong with the Shadow Lake Community, making friends everywhere she went. She also enjoyed traveling most notably throughout Europe and Ireland. Most of all, Ann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Carl R. Rankl, and her brother, William T. Maxwell.
Ann is survived by her three sons Carl and his wife Karen Rankl of Shrewsbury, Theodore and his wife Lisa Rankl of Hazlet, and Robert and his wife Torri Rankl of Hornell, NY, and her five loving grandchildren Kiera, Tyler, Melissa, Anna, and Shaylynn.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28 from 5pm – 8pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, August 29 at 11am at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 94 Broad Street, Red Bank. Burial will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
