Anne Francoise “Fran” Giovanniello of Holmdel peacefully passed away with family at her side on February 7, 2023.
Fran was born and raised in Manchester, NH. She graduated from Saint Anselm College earning a B.S. in Nursing. While working as a registered nurse at the VA Hospital in Brooklyn, she met her future husband William “Bill” Giovanniello. They married and eventually settled in Holmdel where they raised their three children, Denise, William (Billy) and Michael.
While raising her family, Fran worked at ATT-Bell Labs/Lucent. She was active in the St. Catharine Catholic Church Parish as a Daily Mass “9 O’Clocker” and Prayer Shawl Knitter. She volunteered at local thrift store and food pantry, Calico Cat. Fran loved to watch her grandchildren play sports and always made time to take her “grand-dog” to the local dog park. She enjoyed Caribbean vacations with her husband Bill and family ski trips in the northeast. Fran was an avid gardener, a jigsaw and Sudoku puzzler, and frequented garage sales at every opportunity.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Georges Gagne and Helen Pilawski Gagne, brother Robert Gagne, and son Billy Giovanniello.
Fran is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Giovanniello, daughter Denise (Kurt) Hovanec, son Michael Giovanniello, daughter-in-law Carolyn Giovanniello and grandchildren Nicholas Hovanec, Amelia Hovanec, Jennifer Giovanniello, and Ryan Giovanniello.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 10, 3-7 pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road. Mass on Saturday, February 11, 10:30 am at St. Catherine Church, 108 Middletown Road, followed by burial at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Hwy 79, Morganville.
