Arthur M. Laney, 83 of Long Branch passed at his home on Sunday, May 11th. Mr. Laney enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953, serving in the Vietnam War. He retired in 1973 as a Sergeant First Class. He also retired from Civil Service in 1988. He was born in Raeford, North Carolina and lived in Long Branch since his Honorable Discharge from the Army. Surviving is his wife, Mattie L. Laney; five children, James Laney, Lisa Bradon, Cheryl Graham, Kenneth Graham and Mary Mudiraj; a sister, Betty York and numerous grandchildren. Visitation Monday, May 19th, 7 to 9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, May 20th, 9:30 am, Star of the Sea RC Church, Second and Chelsea Avenue, Long Branch. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 12:30 at Brigadier William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, Wrightstown.
