Barbara Tobey Fisher, 80 of Ocean, NJ passed away Sunday, March 27 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
To know Barbara was to love her. She was born in the Bronx, before moving to Neptune City as a child. She is a graduate of Asbury Park High School, graduating with honors. She attended Brookdale Community College and Monmouth College on her path to becoming a paralegal. She loved the beach and met the love of her life Barry Fisher on Loch Arbor Beach. A long time resident of Ocean Township and member of Temple Beth Torah, Barbara started her paralegal career at the early age of 17, working in various legal offices for more than 50 years.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Barry.
She was proudest of her two sons, Dr. David J. Fisher of Ocean Township, and Dr. Robert L. Fisher of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her two wonderful and loving daughters-in-law, Dana and Lori, and of course the loves of her life, her four grandchildren, Natalie, Elena, Marly, and Zach. She will be sorely missed by her many nieces and nephews, and all her many dear friends.
Barbara was an avid card player and would never turn down a game of canasta at her favorite place, the Breakwater Beach Club. She will always be remembered for her sharp wit and never ending wisdom. She is survived by her sisters Rita and Sally and brother Michael. She is predeceased by her parents Anne and Samuel Landes.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00 am at Congregation Torat El, 301 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Burial to follow in Agudath Achim Cemetery, Neptune.
