Barbara Lloyd Woolley Demaree passed from this life to her eternal home, Sunday, December 25th, 2016 surrounded by her loving and grateful family. Barbara, better known as Bobby, was born March 4th, 1923 in Long Branch to Lydia and Allan Woolley and resided in Long Branch and West Long Branch her entire life. A graduate of Long Branch High School, Class of 1940, she then furthered her education in nursing at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, graduating in 1944. It was there, she met and fell in love with her husband of 55 years, Dr. Richard Demaree. During her lifetime, Bobby was Past President of Long Branch YMCA Auxiliary, Past President of Monmouth County Medical Society Auxiliary, Past 1st Vice President New Jersey Medical Society Auxiliary, Cub Scout Den Mother, youth bowling instructor and avid sports fan. She loved playing bridge, working crossword puzzles and reading books. Together, Doc and Bobby built a life and a family. She leaves behind sons, Alex and his wife Nancy, West Long Branch, John and his wife Michele, Neptune, Peter and his wife Anne, Neptune, James and his wife Jacklyn, Ocean Grove, Eric and his wife Lynne, Bedford, NH and daughter Christine Yancy and her husband Tom, Gallatin, TN. Their legacy includes 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Bobby also leaves her loving brother Allan R. Woolley and his children Robin Sobotka, Michael Woolley and Laura Woolley. Our deepest thanks to the staff of hospice for making her transition peaceful and comfortable.
