Dear Lorraine, I am a neighbor of yours at DPP #402. My husband and I were so sorry to hear of Carlos’s passing. All of us neighbors knew your husband as the man coming and going to his bike. He always had a smile on his face! I hope to see you and your daughters next winter. Take care of yourself.

Obrigado. Saudades.

Carlos was not just family but a beloved friend. Fatima has never forgotten following Carlos to school when she was a little girl ; few years later when he was a teenager Carlos used to take her for a bicycle ride , when he would go to see his girlfriend. Carlos never forgot his roots. He’ll be always remembered.
