Carmela A. Hergenrother, 97, of Colts Neck, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel.  Born March 13, 1929, to Alberico and Rose Buono in Newark, NJ.  Carmela lived in Middletown before moving to Colts Neck in 1969.

Predeceased by her parents, Alberico and Rose Buono, sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Joseph Linarducci, brother and sister-in-law, Alexander and Patricia Buono, nephew, Alexander Buono and niece, Susan Weiseman.  Carmela is survived by her husband, Reinhardt Hergenrother, son, Stephen Hergenrother, daughter and son in law, Rosanne and Robert Mulvihill and three grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am, Thursday, July 30, 2026, at St. Mary’s RC Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ 07722.  Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, 1100 West Chicago Blvd, Sea Girt, NJ 08750.
