Charleen Anthony, 71 of Long Branch, died on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center.
She was born in 1951 to the late Ann and Carl Orlando and was raised in Long Branch until moving with her family to Tinton Falls in 1956.
Charleen attended Monmouth Regional High School, where she met Glenn. They were married in April, 1969, before graduating that June. After their marriage, she and Glenn moved to Long Branch, where they raised their children.
A devoted wife and mother, Charleen’s main focus was her family. When her children were young, she was an active coordinator and volunteer of many school and church events. For several years, she was the Librarian of Holy Trinity School, which her children attended. She was also a member of the Holy Trinity Church choir during this time.
A talented seamstress and crafter, Charleen enjoyed sewing, ceramics and floral arrangement. Over the years, she created many beautiful items.
One of her favorite things was making Italian cookies for the holidays with her grandchildren.
Over the years, Charleen enjoyed vacationing with her family, including a once in a lifetime visit to Italy with her husband and parents. A favorite spot was the poconos, where she went for many years.
In her later years, Charleen also enjoyed decorating, watching design shows for inspiration, and attending yard and rummage sales, searching for treasures.
Most of all, Charleen loved being with her family, cherishing the time spent together. She made every holiday and occasion special and memorable.
She is predeceased by her devoted parents and her loving sister Fran Mazzi.
Surviving is her loving husband of 53 years, Glenn R. Anthony, her sons Richard and his wife Heather Anthony of Eatontown and Peter Anthony of Long Branch, sisters Ann Klein and Bob, Patricia Murashko and Jeff, Joan and husband Scott Leder, and her three beloved grandchildren Brandon, Daniel, and Kayla.
Memorial Gathering Thursday, October 6 from 5pm – 8pm at Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, with a celebration of life offered at 7:30pm.
