Charles Cassidy, 72, of Aberdeen passed away on March 11, 2012. Charles was born on March 14, 1939 in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, New York where he graduated from St. Simon Stock High School. In 1966, Charles, his wife Ann and their children moved to Matawan, New Jersey. He worked as a supervisor for the United States Postal Service for twenty three years before retiring in 2001. He was predeceased by his wife Ann, by his brothers Francis and John, and by his sisters Margaret and Patricia Pigott. Surviving are his two sons, Joseph and wife Tara of Little Silver, NJ, Charles and wife Denise of Morganville, NJ, five daughters, Jeanne Kennedy and husband John of Freehold NJ, Joanne Sullivan and husband Timothy of Aberdeen NJ, Alice Cassidy of Freehold, NJ, Jacqueline Bergin and husband Matthew of Fair Haven, NJ and Denise Laferrera and husband Michael of Sea Bright, NJ, brother Joseph Cassidy of Plainview NY, sisters Catherine Cassidy and Marian Breiter of Long Branch, NJ, Anne Lynch of Matawan, NJ, and nine grandchildren, Dylan, Tara, Sean, Thomas, Connor, Deaglan, Olivia, Caroline and Eileen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 9:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday 10:30 AM at St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel. Internment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.

I would like to offer my most sincere condolences to Chuck Cassidy's Family at this time. I worked with Chuck at the US post office in Eatontown. Chuck always had a smile on his Irish face, as he exhibited ceaseless humor, a TRULY IRISH Trait. I remember that Chuck was a big sports fan, rooting for the Giants in baseball and Nfl, as well as the redwings in hockey. Being Irish-American like Chuck meant that a day would not be complete without the two of us kidding each other in one way or another. We enjoyed many a laugh, and Chuck always took great care of the people under him on the workfloor. May God Bless, Hold and Keep this Fine and Classic Irishman as well as his Family.
