Clarence “Buddy” Brocklebank Sr., 90, passed away Tuesday, October 15th in Eatontown.
Buddy was born in Long Branch and raised in Wayside. Buddy married the love of his life, Paddy, in 1956 and raised their young family in Oceanport. Buddy was a Teamster for 47 years working for Campbell Concrete, Duncan Thecker Associates and Clayton Concrete. Buddy also spent 74 years in the fire department, 14 with Wayside and 60 with Port-Au-Peck. He was a Chief in Oceanport in 1975. And was Fire Police well into his 80’s.
When his sons were young he was active cub scouts. And after retiring he became a substitute crossing guard in Oceanport.
Buddy was predeceased by his granddaughter Shauna Brocklebank Adams; his wife Paddy and his Sister Betty Borden and her husband Bud.
Buddy is survived by his children Don & Terry Brocklebank; Matt & Nancy Brocklebank; his grandchildren Donald & Alissa Brocklebank, Sherry & Matt Clark; Maggie & Kevin Smith and Randi & Alex Golembowski; and his great-grandchildren Emily, Jilian, Connor, Taylor & Logan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and his sister in law and brother in law Neil & Tom Bonello.
Visitation Wednesday, October 23rd 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral service Thursday, October 24th at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, Ocean.
