I always looked forward to seeing David in the Healthy Lives Program at Monmouth Medical Center. David had a mutual fondness for the outdoors and we shared many stories off his adventures,. He had a special sparkle in his eyes when he spoke about his granddaughter and a sense of peace when he spoke about his motorcycle rides. He will be missed and I’m so thankful to have cared for him in our program. Sincerely and with my deepest sympathy, Dianna Marron RN Healthy Lives at MMC.

I’ve only seen Uncle David a few time when I was younger, but I remember him being the sweetest guy and having a great sense of humor. When I went through my 3 major surgeries this year, he was always checking on me while fighting battles of his own. He would comment on my Facebook and was always reaching out to my mom and I. Even though most of our connection was through the phone, I still felt connected to him. He will be deeply missed by all, and was a honorable man.

Joy Serine More left a message on July 28, 2021:
It was my first week on my own in dispatch at Deal PD. The worst call of my 35 year career came during that week-the gas station fire. The phones lines were all ringing at once, the portables were blasting, and I was having trouble keeping it together. Then Dave walked (I should say strolled) in the back door to HQ. He told me to go to the ladies room, get my self together and come back down so we could handle this call-together. When it was all done, we had a life-saving, career-saving debriefing. He could have been at that call helping his fellow fire officers fight that fire, but he chose to come help me. I have been and will always be forever grateful. Rest in peace my friend.

Dave is a good soul and while I was growing up in Deal I had the privilege's to meet him and spent hours of mindless chats, He was a good police officer and went above and beyond with his duties. The last time I saw him was at a friend's funeral and I was so happy to see him and him me. Deepest sympathy to the family. Sincerely, Diane Grey Eckstein

My deepest condolences to the family of one of my dearest Blue Knights Brothers. Dave was a wonderful man and truly loved by all. Everytime I saw Dave I would tell him that I love him & he would always respond "I love you too". An hour or so later I would say "Dave, did I tell you that I love you today" and he would reply "Yes you did". I would then respond with "Well let me tell you again, I love you Dave" and with that big beautiful smile he'd again reply "I love you too". No better words can be spoken between two grown men and it was spoken from the heart. I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves Dave, I truly believe anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him loves him just as much as I do... I will miss my dear friend but he will forever live on in my memories and in my heart... Rest in eternal peace my brother and may God bless your soul. ? Till we ride again ?
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
