DEMAREST STEPHEN NEWMAN, III (“STEVE”) died peacefully on July 11, 2024. Steve was born in Red Bank, NJ on March 7, 1974, and lived in Morganville, Holmdel, Boulder, Colorado, New York City, Ocean Grove and, finally, Asbury Park. He was a kind, sensitive soul who advocated for the oppressed peoples of the world.
He is survived by his parents, Audrey (John) Vickers and Demarest (Robin) Newman, his siblings, Lauren (Danny) Stein, Christopher (Carolina) Newman and Annabel Newman, nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved son, Marcus Fidel Newman of New York City.
Cremation will be private and a memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
