Dorothy Licitra, 86 of Eatontown died on Saturday July 20th at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Dorothy was born to Lena and Carmen Penta in Long Branch, where she was raised. She was a graduate of Long Branch High School. She will always be remembered for being a classy and wonderful person.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ret. Lt. New Jersey State Police, Frank Licitra who died in 2004.

Surviving is her son Commissioner Ross Licitra, Morganville; her daughter, Lianne and her husband Richard Brock, Marlboro; her siblings, Michael Penta, New City, NY, Carmen and Rosemary Penta, West Long Branch and Dianne and Tito Arena, Paramus; her grandchildren Ryan, Brendan, Kelliane, Gianna, Frankie, Charles and Jennifer; two great grandchildren, Natalia and Brody.

Funeral services will be held privately. Dottie will be entombed at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro.

In lieu of customary remembrances, Dottie’s family asks with gratitude that donations in her honor be made to the Monmouth County S.P.C.A., 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724; www.monmouthcountyspca.org.

My thoughts are with the Licitra family. I spent many hours in the company of Frank and Dottie, as I grew up with them living next door. I am the oldest grandchild of the late Maria Celli of Cedar St. I spent countless Christmas Eve's with them, Frank loved Grandma's fried dough. She was always so kind to me. May she rest peacefully and she is now reunited with her beloved Frank.
