Eileen Cahill, 76, of Brick, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, May 13. She is survived by her children, James and his partner Amanda Kaut; Heather and her husband Chris Ball; Meghan and her husband Bruce Linnell; her sister, Linda Rule; and six grandchildren: Morgan, Ainsley, Dagny, Wesley, Everett, and August. Eileen was predeceased by her husband, James, and her parents, Esther and William Roscher.
Eileen cherished her family and was always ready to help anyone in need, offering a listening ear, thoughtful advice, and unconditional support. She took great pride in her family’s achievements and loved encouraging their efforts. In her free time, Eileen enjoyed visiting craft fairs, traveling with her family and dear friend Pat, and creating beautiful beaded jewelry.
An avid jewelry collector, Eileen was seldom seen without one of her handcrafted pins or signature bracelets, a love she shared with her granddaughters. She eagerly learned more about soccer so she could cheer on Everett and Auggie at their games, and she was a devoted supporter of her grandson Wesley, who loved his grandma fiercely. Her legacy will live on through her family as a true embodiment of unconditional love.
Born in New York and a New Jersey resident since 1983, Eileen graduated from Brooklyn College with a BA in Psychology and later earned an MA in Education and Guidance Counseling from New York University. She found her true calling in real estate, where she built an illustrious 40-year career as a distinguished Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in the field.
Eileen served on the board of the Affordable Housing Alliance and was deeply committed to helping people achieve homeownership. She also combined her passion for teaching with her real estate expertise as a certified New Jersey Real Estate Instructor, always going the extra mile for her students.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, from 5–8 p.m at The Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S Holmdel Rd, Holmdel NJ 07733. A Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 28 at St. James Church in Red Bank.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, the family requests that donations in Eileen’s memory be made to the Affordable Housing Alliance (www.housingall.org).
