Elizabeth Ann MacClary, formerly of Colts Neck, peacefully passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, December 10, 2020, in Bucks County, PA, where she resided with her husband at Holland Village. She was 87.
Ann was born to Bernie and Lillian Beatrice Pryor (Herrold) on April 6th in Glendale, West Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents; older brother Jerold Pryor and his wife Carolyn; older sister Martha Pryor and her nephew David Pryor.
After making a few moves in her younger years, her family settled in Clifton, NJ. She graduated from Clifton High School and later obtained her Registered Nurse degree from Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital in New York City.
Ann was the loving wife of Dr. Ronald G. MacClary with whom she had shared 62 years of marriage. They have four children – John “Randy” MacClary (Mary Lu), Ronald “Ronnie” MacClary Jr., Jane Kuro (Joseph), and Laura Frank (Steve). Seven grandchildren – John Randall “JR”, Katie, Jessica, Julia, Jaclyn, John, and Aiden. Seven great grandchildren – Colton, Kendall, John, Nylah, Nolan, David, and Gracelyn. Ann was kind hearted, generous, always thought of others, and had a beautiful smile for all. She never missed a birthday or special event in someone’s life by sending them a card. She was a devoted wife and nurturing mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She instilled core family values for all of us to live by and encouraged others with her big heart. She was always so welcoming and opened her home to family, friends, and others. She enjoyed being a homemaker in addition to her 20 years of nursing at Centra State Hospital, in Freehold.
Ann lived a Christ centered life displaying the fruit of the spirit: Galatians 5:16
“Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.”
Ann was a long time member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church, where she committed her time to mission trips, volunteering, and many other church and community activities. Ann delighted in traveling and especially treasured vacations in Hilton Head, SC and Florida with family and friends. We will forever hold fond memories of her. She will be dearly missed and we all are blessed to have had her in our lives.
