Maureen Becker left a message on October 23, 2019:
Aunt Betty was truly an inspiration. She (along with my mom) took her parents' advice to heart: "Never let anyone tell you can't do something just because you are a girl." She was intelligent, well-educated, respected in her profession, strong-willed, and a world traveler. She set a fine example for all of her nieces, and, I am sure, the young women she counseled in the schools and in private practice. A woman of strong faith, she has gone to be with God. Godspeed, Aunt Betty.

To Steven and the Degnan Family, my sincere condolences on the passing of your Aunt. I always admired how you took care of her, shopped for her and attended church with her and for that you will be blessed. I miss seeing you both at Seabrook after she moved to C.C. For being such a kind person, Rest in Heaven Elizabeth! Sincerely Jill Puryear, Seabrook.
