Florence L. Biraghi, 91 of Holmdel died on Saturday, Sept. 17th at her son’s home in Holmdel.
She was born and raised in Elizabeth then moved to Rahway for several years, before settling in Holmdel in 1984. For many years she worked for Singer’s Sewing Machines and later opened Flo’s luncheonette with one of her sisters.
Flo enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and playing the slot machines. She enjoyed watching soap operas, Lifetime Channel and she especially liked Elvis Presley. She was delighted to have family gatherings and cooking for her guests. She eventually moved to Holmdel Village, where she began to organize the Bingo games and Holiday Gatherings.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, James Saturno in 1976 and her second husband, Joseph Biraghi in 2001, and her siblings, sisters, Blanche, Viola and Wanda, and brothers, Charlie and John.
Surviving Flo is her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ana Saturno, Holmdel; and her grandson Nicholas, who was her pride and joy.
Visitation, Fri. Sept. 23rd, 4 to 8 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial, Sat. Sept. 24th, 10:30 am, Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Entombment, Holmdel Mausoleum.
