Franklin Joseph Callano, aka “Frankie Beans”, 39, Long Branch passed away peacefully Saturday, January 15th.
Frank was a lifelong resident of Long Branch; Long Branch was in Frank’s spirit. He was a devoted fan of most sports but loved tennis, the Giants, the Yankees and the Knicks.
Frank worked hard at Strollo’s Light House as a young boy for years. He also worked at his grandparent’s restaurant. He gave loyal service to them, even after being diagnosed with cancer.
Frank later followed his dream as a “sneaker head” owning Addicted Sole in West End, NJ. Frank was always fresh with his styles.
Frank loved children. His friend’s children always referred to him as “Uncle Beans”.
Frank handled his disease with strength, courage and faith in God. His passion for life was infectious and he will be deeply missed by friends and family members.
To Dr. Glenn Parker, who has God’s hands, saved Frank in so many ways, and to his wonderful nurses who took care of him through the years. He was grateful and loved them all. He will watch over all of us and will be smiling down upon us all. He is at rest and in peace with his loving family members in heaven.
Surviving is his loving mother, Joann; father, Frank and brother, Christopher, who he loved so very much.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org; Colorectal Cancer Alliance, www.ccalliance.org; American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org; or plant a tree in Frank’s name and watch it grow.
