George you were more my older brother than cousin growing up. You taught to me shoot your M-14 when it weighed more than I did. You taught me to drive when I was just a little kid, I recall that red Fury with the push button trans all too well. I fondly recall working on cars in the garage behind the house and at Uncle Jim's shop. Cardboard containers of beer from Billow's. Fond memories of riding your super boat in the Shrewsbury river when you came down to visit. You were my best man at my first wedding. Oddly enough we both had more than one of those.. Love and miss you bro, sorry I let us drift apart. Looking forward to seeing you again in the future. Deepest condolences to your children and Barbara.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Ruth Breidenbach Seewer left a message on May 19, 2026:
I want to extend my condolences to Barbara and her family. Although George and I only crossed paths a few times in our lives, we did share the love of Barbara, who was like family to us Breidenbach's. We always shared a lot of laughs, and it was through George that I kept up with the Petersons through the years because he never failed to send me a Christmas Card with a note inside letting me know how everyone was doing, and what was happening. I will miss those cards. I would like to say Rest in Peace, but I know he is up there helping whoever needs a hand. Thank you for your service George, you will be missed by many.

Dad, You will be missed more than you know. I am truly devastated that you are gone so fast. It feels like just yesterday we were in Key West for a Championship and we did a day trip on a sailboat and went snorkeling and had a great time. Or the time that you, me, Darcy and mom celebrated my 25th birthday at Don Ricardos then we went to Lily Flannigans for drunks. All those times we went to the beach with the family and our friends. Times we took the Bali-Hai out to Kismet and moored the boat to spend the night. I remember test driving one of the race boats with you out in Freeport and you let me drive. Riding around and bay balming in your 21ft SUPERBOAT East Coast Rider. Going to the OBI and hanging out with some of your friends that had boats too. Point Pleasant Beach NJ was always a blast. I recall going to New Rochelle in 1983 for one of your first races, I was 12 at that time. You were on ESPN in the Key West Championships and you won that year. Spending time with you at SUPERBOATS and East Coast Marine was always fun. I remember when I was very young that you and mom took me to Washington D.C. and we went on a horse drawn carriagewith a horse named snowball. The trips to Gettysburg PA to see the battlefields were great. Getting the chance to go to work with you onthe railroad was fantastic! Barbecues at Heckscher State Park are imbeded in my memory. Taking site seeing excursions around Connecticut like the Air Museum and the Train Museum, going to Quantico, VA for Marine Corps installations. Seeing the Eighth and I perform at a small airfield on Long Island. Trips to the Intrepid Air Museum was always the best time with you. Seeing the St. Patrick's Day parade in the city then going to the Blarney Stone for some beer or cider and corned beef sandwiches. All the times you met up with me at the train station in Huntington Station while I was working a foot post as a Suffolk County Police Officer in the 2nd PCT in the early 90s. To name a few things over the years. Lord knows there are so much more. Your absence will make life harder, in fact at this very moment I wish I could call you and talk. DAD I LOVE YOU! LOVE, BRIDGET

This candle is for my loving father George Axel Peterson who should have been with us longer. Words can't express the sorrow I feel right now at your absence and I feel like I never had enough time with you. I still remember seeing a picture of you holding me after I was born and you were 25 so young so handsome but you always remained handsome throughout the years. There's a great loss in my heart right now. I know you're with my mom your former wife Ann Peterson and with your family and your friends who went before you sometime ago. I wish you are at peace and you find happiness in heaven and that you can do all the things you used to do before you became so ill. We will meet again down the road. Dad I want to thank you for being there for me, for raising me for doing fun exciting things with me for taking us to the beach and going to the boat races. I love you so much you will be missed tremendously.
