Neva left a message on March 4, 2019:
Gerardo ‘Jerry’ Galasso, 95, of Leisure Knoll, Manchester passed at his home on Thursday, February 28, 2019. The last of the 10 Galasso siblings to leave us, Jerry was born in Newark, living there in and in North Arlington before moving to Manchester 20 years ago. Jerry was employed as a Bartender and at Westinghouse for many years. His patience and support of his life-of-the party wife, Sally, highlighted his easy-going nature and love for all around him. Known to get the ingredients for 1 meal at 5+ different stores (this place has the best bread, this place has the best meat, etc.) Jerry welcomed all into his home for a stiff cocktail and a delicious meal. Some of the best memories include Jerry and Sally hosting holiday meals on Elm Street with well over 40 filling their home with good food, friends and family and the non-stop dinner parties at the Knoll after talent shows and community events. Jerry was also an avid support of the Knights of Columbus and was honored to serve with his many friends over the years. Hours could be spent listening to Jerry’s stories about his life growing up with his siblings, bartending, hanging on the Jersey shore, the crazy times with Johnny Shoes and Nicky Fiore and living in the age of good music, great food and family first. He is predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Sally Galasso; and his 9 brothers and sisters, Fay, Minnie, Irma, Livia, Sal, Al, Mandy, Carmen and Pat. Surviving are his children, Neva Lisanti and Pat Galasso; his ‘daughter’, Sandra Fox; his ‘son-in-law’, Patrick Fox; 4 grandchildren, Michael and Toni-Ann Lisanti, Neva Espinoza and Patrick Fox; 4 great-grandchildren John and Charlotte Espinoza, and Sara and Kevin Fox. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
