Hartson A. Cook, 88 of Oceanport passed away Monday July 25th at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Asbury Park he lived in Allenhurst before moving to Oceanport in 1986. He was the owner of Hartson A. Cook Sales a company that provided Police and Fire Equipment. After receiving a degree from Monmouth College he served as a Combat Corpsman with the Fourth Marine Division in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. Hartson represented most leading manufacturers of fire apparatus in the State of New Jersey as a salesman for over forty years. His passion for public service led him to the Allenhurst Fire Department where he served as Chief and instructed First Aid procedures with the Red Cross for over 25 years. He later volunterred in the fire service with the Pinebrook Community Hose Company and worked as a Fire Inspector in Tinton Falls, NJ. Hartson was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Asbury Park. Surviving is his wife of 64 years Dorothy Miller Cook; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stuart and Shelly Cook, Fallon, NV and Scott A. Cook, Howell Twp.; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Ronald Domalewski, Virginia Beach, VA.; a brother George W. Cook; his sister, Janet Cimino; three grandchildren, Che, Lisa and John; and his great grandson, Stuart. Visitation will be Thursday July 28th, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral services will be Friday July 29th at 10:00 at the funeral home.
