Hope Darby Durkin, 74 of West Long Branch, passed away Friday, February 8th at Barnabas Hospice, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Hope worked for many years at Ft. Monmouth as a Logistics Manager.

She was born and raised in Long Branch, later she moved to West Long Branch. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s RC Church, Long Branch. For many years Hope enjoyed her softball team and her bowling league. Later she became an avid golfer and was a member of Sun Eagles Country Club, Ft. Monmouth. Hope and her husband, Bob, enjoyed many years of traveling.

Hope was pre-deceased by her husband Robert W. Durkin in 2009; and her parents, Marianne and William Darby.

Surviving is her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Joe Gervolino, Freehold; a niece and her husband, Dana and Ron Roussell, West Long Branch; her nephews, Joseph Gervolino, Long Branch, James and his wife Allison Gervolino, Oceanport and John and his wife Susan Gervolino, Orlando, Fl.; son, William Durkin, Long Branch; daughters, Barbara Delisa, Woodbridge, Va., Robin Durkin, Long Branch, Maureen and Vincent Fragale, Long Branch and Kathleen and Michael Trueblood, Radcliff, Ky; and her granddaughter, Kierstyn Fragale.

Visitation will be Wed. February 13th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thurs. Feb. 14th, 10:30 am at St. Michael’s RC Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch. You may light a candle of condolence by visiting www.woolleyboglioli.com.
