James H. Hammond, 57, a lifelong resident of Lincroft, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.
Jim retired as a Sergeant from the Holmdel Township Police Department, where he worked for 25 years and was a member of the Holmdel Township Policemen’s Benevolent Association-239. He was also the owner of Hammond Lawn Service. A loving and devoted son and a proud father, Jim was an avid fan of baseball and horseracing.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wilbur and Shirley Hammond. Surviving are his beloved daughters Katie Hammond and Jennifer Hammond, his daughter-in-law Kristen Mignoli, his sisters Patricia Fiordland, Dorothy White, Betty Luhman, and Sharon Hammond, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral service will be offered Friday at 11 a.m. at Holmdel Community United Church of Christ, 40 Main Street, Holmdel. Entombment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Wounded Warriors Project in Jim’s memory.
