Janine Peterson, 65, of Holmdel, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in New York City, Janine grew up in Yonkers, NY and raised her family in Ridgefield, CT for 26 years before moving to Holmdel.
Janine was married for 40 years to her loving husband and best friend Denis. A dedicated wife and mother, Janine lived every day to the fullest and touched all those surrounding her with her radiant and captivating personality. She is survived by her two children: son Justin and daughter Kendal. Also surviving her are brothers Drew Carlson and Craig Carlson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, February 7, at 9:15 AM at the Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.

Denis, Justin, Kendal, Craig, and Drew, I hope that these words from so many people give you some comfort at this terrible time. I went to school with Janine from 1st grade (Sister Anselm's class) and through high school and even for her 1 year at Boston College. You don't need to be told this, but I think you are hearing from so many of my classmates because Janine was the ultimate combnination or fun, kindness, smarts, loyalty and sensitivity. Her love for all of you, I'm sure was immense. She made the world a better place. I will keep you all in my prayers.
