Jann L. Sepcsik, 71 of Aberdeen died on Wednesday, July 21 just as the sun rose.
She was born in 1950 to Grace and William O’Buck in Perth Amboy and grew up in Fords. After Jann finished high school, she attended the University of Bridgeport and graduated in 1972.
Jann had a passion for teaching. She began her career in Connecticut, then moved on to Spotswood, New Jersey, and finally retired from Kennedy Park Elementary in Woodbridge in 2015.
Jann loved to travel and enjoyed the beach, especially Cape Cod and Avalon, NJ. She loved animals and children, and volunteered at Sunnyside Equestrian Center in Middletown helping disabled children. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.
But above all else, Jann loved being a mother the most. She made sacrifices and stood strong through many of life’s challenges, always with the thought of her son’s well-being at the forefront of her actions. Her love was radiant. Nothing brought her more joy than being a mother to her only son.
Surviving is her son, Justin Sepcsik of Aberdeen, her three cousins, Patricia “Pat” Boland, Brenda Shuman, and Marilyn Morgan, Pat’s daughter Tricia Boland-White and her husband, Ben White and their children, Alice and Harrison White, her beloved dog Maggie, and a sister.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jann’s memory can be made to a childhood cancer research group of your choice.
