Joan A. DeLizza, 83, of Holmdel, passed away on Thursday morning at Riverview Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Joan was an administrative assistant for Bankers Trust Co. in New York City. She was an avid fan of the Opera. She was a parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church in Holmdel, and was also a member of the Holmdel Half Century Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who just loved cooking for her family. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1993, and by her brothers Louis and Gino Lombardi. She is survived by her son William and his wife Barbara DeLizza , by her daughter Joan and her husband Robert Shannon, her brother Louis Lombardi, sisters Madeline Laurino, Josephine Luby, Linda Galici, Grace Ballatore, and by her five grandchildren Robert, Michelle, Christine, Steven and Erica, and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday 9:15AM at St. Catharine R.C. Church 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund, P.O. Box 95, Mendham , N.J. 07945-0095. Donation slips will be available at the funeral home.
