Joan M. Burd, 84, of Oceanport, passed away Wednesday, October 31st at Monmouth Medical Center.
Mrs. Burd was born in Long Branch and moved to Oceanport in 1960. For over 40 years, she was a telephone operator with New Jersey Bell. Mrs. Burd was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a parishioner of the Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach.
Mrs. Burd was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Dale, who passed away August 2, 2018.
Surviving are her children Sharon Hontz & her husband Jeffrey, Whitehall, PA and Dale Burd & his wife Tammy, Oceanport; her grandchildren Jimi & Krissy Burd, Tara & Chris Davis, Kristina & Josh Nolze, Robert & Allison Hontz, and Catherine Hontz & her fiancé Rob Hess and her great grandchildren Haylee, Jimi, Aiden & Caroline.
Visitation will be Saturday November 3rd 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:00 am at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch.
