Joan M. Winans, 81 of Long Branch passed away on Thursday, March 27 at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Winans was a life long resident of Long Branch. Joan's family was most important to her and gave her the greatest pride and happiness. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Russell T. Winans, Jr. in 2013, her parents, Edna and Joseph Bonforte, her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Pat Bonforte and her nephew, Stephen Bonforte. Surviving Joan is her son and daughter-in-law, Drew and Michele Winans, Long Branch, her daughter, Patricia Winans Townsend, Long Branch; her grandchildren, Jessica L. Winans and her partner, Michael Leal, Drew Winans, Jr. Megan M. Townsend and Laura L. Townsend; her great grandchild, Devin Leal; her nieces, Karen Bonforte, Cindy Bonforte and her partner Elyse; her nephews, Ronald and his wife, Chris Bonforte and Joseph Bonforte. Visitation, Sunday, March 30, 2 to 5 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Patty and Drew, I am sure you know how sad I am and sorry for the loss of your mom. So happy I had the pleasure of growing up with your mom in my life. I feel like I lost my second mom. So many fun times and great memories of her, including the occasional times when she justifiably had to firmly straightened us all out. Patty's 18th Birthday comes to mind.;-) Your mom had a wonderful sense of humor which she passed on to you both. Her infectious smile and laugh will never be forgotten nor her loving heart. I loved her dearly.
