Dear Lillian and Family, I am very saddened to learn of John's passing. Although we have not seen each other for many years, John holds a unique place in my childhood memories. As they say, children instinctively know the nature of the person before them. When I think of John's kindness, decency, and dedication to family, it fills my heart with love. His extraordinary life goes beyond the living and his memories will be cherished beyond his passing. My most sincere condolences. Cousin Maria

Hon, you are my love, my life and my all now and forever and ever. Until we see each other again your “Butch”will always keep you near and as I always promised you “I will be strong”. We did it hon...the family we always dreamed of is right here now. Remember what the priest said at the altar when we got married? He said” You will see your children and your children’s children gathered around your table”. God blessed us honey, please thank Him for us as you see Him face to Face.

Growing up in Brooklyn John and Lillian were my neighbors are used to remember John sitting in the backyard and he would yell up to the window hey Barbara did you finish eating your eggs yet????? and I would say no..... And then he would laugh at me and say if you don’t eat them you know you’re not going to come outside I said I know I know!! Rest In Peace John. You were the best neighbor anyone could ask for you always had plenty of stories to tell and they were also very funny and I remember you took me and my dad fishing one time as well that was the only time I ever went!

Dear Aunt Lil and my dearest Benevento family, My heart will be forever broken for all of you, I pray God brings you peace during this grieving time knowing he is no longer suffering. Uncle Johnny as they say was one in a million, the most kindest, loving, humblest and patient man I knew . I will cherish all the memories and talk about them often .I spent a lot of time with them growing up and wherever my Aunt was he was right their with her . My passion for planting and growing flowers comes from my Uncle, he taught me everything I know about plants. Let’s not forget about the Bonsai! We had so many great times together. I love you so much Uncle Johnny and you will be missed by so many. R.I.P and know we will all shower Aunt Lil with love and care. Just as you would want us to. Your up there with the best, I’m sure my mom is already cooking for you Forever in my heart God bless all of you Xoxo Steve and Carmela

Dear Emily and Family, I know how much your father was the true patriarch of your family. His love of life, his family, and appreciation and awareness of all the "simple" things are part of his legacy that I know he has already instilled in you. I wish you all many moments of peace, laughter, and comfort as you recall the many wonderful days spent with your dad. Please accept my sincere condolences at this incredibly difficult time. Love, Tricia Barr

Daddy, This is the hardest thing I've faced in my life so far. You were my sun, moon and stars. I don't know how life will be going forward without you but I will try to uphold your legacy. Every time I make a good cup of coffee, watch an old movie, listen to The Lonely Shepherd, smell sawdust, cook something good, see the good in my children and gather with our family, I will know that you are still with me. I love you always Dad.

Thank You Uncle Johnny for being a GREAT Uncle. You kept family stories alive. Telling the story of me hiding behind the chair when You and Aunt Lil were babysitting for us. It was one that you always told. Like you always remembered that story I will always remember you as being a kind, funny , loving and well respected Uncle. I know you will always be watching over .With all the love and hurt in my heart , i say goodbye.
