I knew John Edward as a child along with his whole family. I can still see John on the alter serving with Father Horan. We all went to Star of the Sea School together as well as Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavillion. John was full of life and was actually quite funny. It's been a very long time since I've seen him and my heart is saddened with the news of his long illness and suffering. Prayers and time will heal the wound felt so deep at this time. "Thereis a beginning and an end for everything that is alive. Just remember, that in between, there was wonderful living."
My thoughts and prayers are with the McCue family over the loss of John.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the McCue family during this most difficult time. I am very sorry for your loss.
THANK YOU, everyone for all of your very kind words..... :)
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Betsy and family, May you find strength and comfort to help you through this difficult time. Camille
To Matt, Mark and the entire McCue family, We extend our deepest sympathy for the great loss of your brother, son, uncle, friend and partner. John was a great guy! He always had a smile on. You have another angel watching over you in heaven. Warmest regards, the Rago family. Don, Nancy and Dylan
You will all be in my prayers. I enjoyed knowing John very much, and always found our conversations very stimulating. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
My condolences to the entire family. Claire is a dear friend of mine and I was so sorry to hear of your loss. God Bless
To the McCue Family, It is with deep regret that we heard of the passing of John. Being friends of the family for some 45 years, I remember him vaguely as a youngster. But I later came to know him as a fine gentleman, a good family man for his own kids, as well as a person who had a true appreciation of being part of the McCue family of 9 brothers and sisters. We will miss seeing him, as we did in recent years, on St. Patrick's Day - in his kelly green scrubs! Hang in there, McCue's. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear Michael and Meghan, I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a wonderful man and will have a permanent place in our hearts. He was affectionately known as "Pa" in our lives and was such a positive force in my boys lives. He always spoke of you guys like there was nothing else in his life that meant more to him. He always told us how proud he was of you both. He will be missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With love, Tobey
Dear Claire and Ellen, We were so sorry to hear about John. It is no surprise to us that he was loved by all. We are holding you and all the McCues very close to our hearts at this difficult time. Love and prayers to you... The Caggias, Karen, Greg, Matthew, Ben and Dan
My prayers are with you and your family. John was a good friend and a beautiful person. He will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Meg and Mike, and loving family and friends of John~ especially his life-long friends, the Conley brothers. I pray that John's family and friends be comforted by the the joy that John found in his religion, in giving to and helping others in similar situations, and the peace that he received by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Fondly ~ Dee
MY PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL THAT KNOW AND LOVE YOU. A GENTLE SOUL YOU WERE. I WILL MISS YOU GREATLY.
Johnny Mac, You will be dearly missed. You have always been the sunshine at any gathering, with that bigger then life smile and that hearty laugh. I will always garish the countless hours we've worked side by side together and enjoyed it, even if we we're making 500 omlettes and waffles after working 18 hours...See you on the other side Johnny Mac. God Bless and all my love to the McCue family.
With deepest sympathy to the Mc Cue family
May you rest in Peace brother John
I am lucky to have known John Edward ever since he was the "baby" of the McCue family. As the family grew, he became the middle child. What a beautiful"centerpiece" to the wonderful family that Mr. and Mrs. McCue brought into the world. My impression of John has never changed. I have always known him to be kind, caring, trustworthy, and positive. Whenever we saw each other, he greeted me with warmth and respect--and made me feel that he was genuinely happy to see me. I hope he knew that I felt the same way about him... My family and I extend our deepest condolences and our prayers to John's children, Michael John and Megan Elizabeth; to his father, Mr. John McCue; and to his brothers and sisters: Betsy, Marty, Claire, Charles, Paul, Eileen, and Mark--and their families. Heaven has received another beautiful gift from the McCue family...

Uncle John, I'll always remember pumpkin picking with you and giants games, all family parties you never missed one, your jolly smile and bear hand shake, your positive outlook on life, family and friends, your ability to make everyone around you feel happy, your pride in my cousins in all they did, your love your family, your strength to deal with your pain, the summer I lived with you and we did everything together, the kindness and help you gave my mom in hard times, and all the times you texted and called when I was away at school. My prayers are with the McCue Family. I was terribly sorry to hear the news of John's passing.
Johnny Mac was one of the BEST people on earth. I knew all the family from age 12 or 13 forward. John Edward and i became VERY close friends after his unfortunate accident due to a fault step on a truck at work. He suffered greatly with ailments that i share with him. We talked many times over the phone and i tried to guide him through the relentless process of paper work for worker's comp, and all the other papers he had to deal with. Before John had this accident, he was a robust, full-fledged Irishman who loved and lived life to the fullest. He adores his children and his best friend, Kathy. I am saddened and shocked by this loss of John. I will add more happy memories as this initial hurt dissipates, if ever. I send blessings, strength, energy, fortitude, wisdom, perserverence, faith, love and hope to all the remaining members of my almost-blood family. I will miss John Edward greatly. I am with you all during this emotionally strenuous times. God bless you all every day of your life, and forever. Love from my soul, Donna Lemig-Badach Known to McCues as "HEHTEN"
I remember John always being upbeat and friendly, and that is how my memories of him will always remain.
I am sorry for your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

When you see Mary Ellen, ask her what she did with my denim vest and when you see Mommy ask her to send me the recipe for her Meatballs. Johnny, you broke my heart leaving so abruptly. I cant imagine why God has taken you...you were a lovely and selfless mortal, just what we all need more of on this wretched planet. Thank you for being a good brother (although I do find it difficult to forgive you for what you did to my Donny Osmond album). Your absence in this life is immeasurable. God bless Juanski....
JohnnieMac.....We all miss you so very much. We all hope and pray you are in Heaven with God and Mom and Mary Ellen and Bob. Love you, John Edward McCue :(
Dearest Betsy & The McCue Family, I am so sorry for your loss and you are all in my prayers. Love, Ann Sliney Buhr
I will NEVER forget Johnny Mac and Chaz Wingo jammin' in the living room at 39 Franklin where the name Hehten originated. It was Johnny that used the word "hurtin'" for EVERYTHING, to the point that Mommy was going NUTS hearing the word. I had spaghetti and meatballs at 139 one Sunday night, and Mommy said "the next person who says 'hurtin'' is going to get it" ... with this, i said "hehten"... that was IT. We all lost it and had great laffs. God, I'll miss Johnny Mac. Thank GOD i have the rest of the sibbies as my own sibbies, even if i HAVE insinuated myself into the family. Daddy John, my heart breaks for you as you've lost your best friend, again. I wish i were there to come and see you, bug you and make you laff. You are THE best, Dad John. May God bless all McCues and their families, and families of friends, all the days of their lives and forever. All my love to you all. Love, Hehten
SO SORRY TO HEAR THE NEWS OF JOHN'S PASSING , I WORKED AT THE BROUGH OF FAIR HAVEN , WITH JOHN , FOR MANY YEARS,,, WARM WISHES TO HIS FAMILY LINDA
Betsy I am so sorry to hear about the death of your brother today. You are truly being tested with family matters but I am sure that you will emerge a stronger person. Before speaking to groups I often ask each person to take a moment to remember all those who depend on them and need them to be who they are. Then, thank the God of their choice. Try it- and stay strong, Chuck
