John J. Eisele, 93 died at his home on Friday August 14th, with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Long Branch and also raised his family in Long Branch then later moved to Ocean Township with his wife, Marie.

John served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean War. Following his active service, he served four years in the Navy Reserves. John then became an Exempt Member of the Elberon Engine Company, Long Branch Fire Department.

John went on to work in the family business, the Joseph Calabretta Block Company, for many years before retiring. John was extremely handy and known for always fixing and building things for his family and friends. He was proud of his work, and his family treasures the many beautiful things he made by hand.

John was a devoted husband to his wife Marie, and a dedicated father to his three children, James, Sherri and Deborah. John was always a family man and prioritized his family above everything else in his life. His greatest joy came from being present for every celebration and every important moment. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and later his three granddaughters; Adriana, Nikki and Remi. He always supported his children’s and grandchildren’s events, football games, softball games, dance recitals and more. John was blessed to have two great granddaughters, Sienna and Skylar. His grandchildren always brought a smile to his face, and he was a proud Pop-Pop and Dad.

John enjoyed his summers with his family in his backyard by the pool, where it always felt like a fun party.  He liked going to the beach, in both Long Branch and Jupiter, Florida, where he and his wife spent their winters after retirement. He especially cherished his time in Jupiter going to the pool, beach, gardening, enjoying his friends and family visits.

John had a quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, a generous heart, and a knack for making everyone laugh and smile. He was known for his practical jokes, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. John was incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and took great pride in doing things the right way.

John enjoyed music, going to musical performances, puzzles, family games, backyard barbeques, family dinners, and sharing stories from years gone by. For those who know him, he always enjoyed chicken parmigiana or steak and a baked potato.

John leaves behind a family who adored him and countless memories that will be treasured forever.  His genuine love for his wife, Marie, his family, his children, his grandchildren and later his great grandchildren, could be felt and seen by everyone he knew.  We are deeply grateful for the gift of John’s life.

He was pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law, Susan Maley-Eisele in February of this year.

Surviving is his wife of 72 years Marie Calabretta Eisele; son, James Eisele, West Long Branch; two daughters, Deborah and Vincent Fiore, Oceanport; Sherri Eisele and JoAnn Trezza, West Long Branch and three grandchildren, Adriana and Marc Payson, Nikki and Michael Sawch and Remi and her fiancé Justin Carling; two great-grandchildren, Sienna Elizabeth Sawch, and Skylar James Payson.

Visitation Wednesday, August 19th, from 4 until 8 PM, at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of a Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, August 20th, 10:30 am at St. Michael’s RC Church. Entombment will immediately follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
