John “Jay” Reagan, Sr., 75 of Middletown died on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
He was born in Staten Island, New York on July 19, 1945. Jay graduated from Curtis High School on Staten Island where he played football for the varsity team. As a young man, Jay always kept busy with sports and school.
He played semi pro basketball and football and had a love for racing cars. He loved the Giants and playing golf.
He proudly served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He continued his life of service as a member, with his wife, of the Loyal Order of Moose organization on Staten Island and as a volunteer fireman in the Little Silver Fire Department.
Jay’s career was his passion. He was a long haul truck driver and traveled to every state in the country, with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii. He proudly received several safe driving awards through the years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He finished his career with Wakefern Food Corporation.
Most important to Jay, however, was his family. He loved spending time with his loving wife, Marilyn, children and five beautiful grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, Alice Elizabeth and Harold Reagan.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Reagan, his children Christine and her husband Dane Richards of Brick, John J. Reagan, Jr. and his wife January of Jackson, and Adam Reagan of Middletown, and his five loving grandchildren Ashley, Dane Jr., Lauren, Jack, and Aubrey.
Visitation Wednesday, February 10, from 4-8pm with a service offered at 7:30pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A private service will be on Thursday, February 11 at 11 am. A public burial service will be Thursday, February 11 at 11:45 am at Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
