John Resh, 85, died at his home in Colts Neck on September 13.
He was born in South Amboy to the late Mary and John Resh. He was raised and attended school in Sayreville. After graduation from Sayreville High School, he studied at Pratt Institute where he earned a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree. He traveled to England and studied art at Leeds College. He also earned a masters degree in education from Rutgers University.
An art teacher at Sayreville High School, he supervised and designed the sets for the dramatic and musical productions. He was an avid collector of toy trains and old toys, and for many years, had a booth at the Red Bank Antiques Center.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Resh and his sons, Owen (Danielle) of Michigan and Christian of Shrewsbury. His three cherished grandchildren, Violet, Simon and Zocha also survive him.
Visitation is Friday, September 17 from 4 pm – 7pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral service will be offered at 6:30 pm. Cremation will be private.
