John Zaferiou, 82 of Marlboro died on Friday, September 27th.
He was born in Afetes Volos, Greece, and served as a Green Beret in the Greek Army. John was a self-employed General Contractor.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Maria Daskalakis Zaferiou; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Despina and George Markos, Marlboro, Eva and George Papagrigorakis, Freehold and Georgia and Nicolaos Plevritis, Marlboro; his sister, Garafilia Voudtis, Greece; four grandchildren Tom Markos, Yianni Markos, Alex Plevritis and Mario Plevritis.
Visitation, Wednesday, October 2nd, 10 am until the time of the funeral liturgy at 11 am at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel, NJ. Interment Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, John’s family asks with gratitude donations be made to Kimisis Tis Theotokou Church.
