Chris Langella left a message on January 7, 2020:
Dear Margaret, Joseph and Andrew, My sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear father. Joe was a treasured friend of the family for decades and will be sorely missed. We always enjoyed time spent together mostly around business luncheons and occasional dinners. Still, I am in awe of the diversity of his accomplishments. From sports athlete, military service, radio enthusiast, to services to the Church, the local Board of Education and fire department. Amazing! At the end of a luncheon visit just a few years ago, Joe left me with "I want you to know... your mother and father meant the world to me". On behalf of Jack and Lovey, I can assure you the sentiment was mutual. With warm memories and deepest sympathy, -Chris Langella

I am very sorry for your loss of this great man and friend. I know he was a great father, grandfather and great grandfather to all of you . You know how much he meant to me . He lived a great long and happy life and Im sure he is with Margaret and Big Bruce right now looking down on us. Bayonne and Monmouth Beach will continue marching on down the street but we will have to do it with a big void in our hearts and without Big Joe. He is now marching with Mom Mom and a different band. God Bless Joe Petrone Sr. I loved that guy. FAITH/FAMILY/FRIENDS
