Joe was a one of a kind individual with a good story to tell every time our paths crossed at the labs. He was the voice of Santa's elf from the second floor at Christmas time. I never heard him talk about WW2 except to describe his chatter to the plane's pilot to avoid the flak. I will always remember him.
