Joseph J. Moschella, 94, of Lincroft, NJ died on Wednesday, December 27.
Joseph was born and raised in Rosebank on Staten Island to the late Carmela and Rosario Moschella. He graduated from New Dorp High School. Afterwards, he served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as the VFW-Labetti Post, in Rosebank. He received a bachelor’s degree at Wagner College, and worked for Nassau Smelting and Refinery as an accountant for over 20 years before retiring.
Joseph enjoyed napping, Tuesday brunches at The Turning Point Restaurant, pool party BBQs, watching sports and golf. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Edna Moschella.
Surviving are his daughters Patricia Moschella and Kathleen Devine of Lincroft, his sister Dominica (Min) Coscia, his beloved granddaughters Katelyn, Elizabeth, and Allison Devine and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 4 from 4pm – 8pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A prayer service will be offered on Friday, January 5 at 10 am at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
In lieu of flowers, Joseph’s family request that donations in his name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
