I knew Joe from First Albany Corp. in Albany, NY. He and Hans Verhaeg interviewed and hired me to work at the brand, new Depository Trust terminal in the "cage", the area where money and bonds were held and where we cleared and reconciled daily transactions. I was there from 1980 to 1985. Joe was funny, happy-go-lucky and easy to work with. F.A.C. was a good place to be back then. I met a lot of smart, sharp and funny people, some of whom I've kept in touch with over the years. My condolences to Joe's family. Thanks for the job, Joe, and Rest in Peace.

I was good friends with Joe at McClosky, we were on the stagecrew together. We devoted a lot of time to that, sometimes staying until 11pm or later when we were getting a show together but we always had a good time and a lot of laughs. I don't remember us spending much time on school work. Had many adventures in the GTO convertible with due to a unfixable quirk always had the backup lights on. On one memorable night Joe, myself and my sister were driving in a blinding snowstorm on a deserted rte. 787 when we slid down a embankment almost hitting a huge highway sign. A nightwatchman on a construction job stopped and drove us to his office to get a chain then back again to pull the GTO back on the road. All that time driving around in the storm we did not see another vehicle on the road. We would go with friends skiing at Kilington, bowling, or really wherever a good time could be had. My condolences to Joe's family and he was a good friend and fun to be with.
