Joseph William Wheeler, 73, of Marlboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21 after a long illness.
Joseph was born in Albany, NY to the late Mary and Walter Wheeler. He worked passionately as a trainer for Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation for over 30 years, and enjoyed all of the places around the globe his position brought him.
Joseph was an avid Yankees fan. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Dyna Glide, playing golf, camping at Lake George, and traveling, especially to warm beaches. He often could be heard listening to The Beatles.
He is predeceased by his brother, Walter Wheeler and sister, Frances Pennock.
Joseph is survived by his life partner, Maria Brill, his three children Joseph and his wife Jamie Wheeler of Forked River, Christopher Wheeler of Hazlet, and Angela Wheeler of Hazlet, his step-children Caren and her husband Carl Mullner, and John and his wife Elena Brill, his siblings Virginia and her husband Dan Murley, grandchildren Adalynn and Alexander, and step-grandchildren Juliet and Vera, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family expresses gratitude for the fine staff of Sunnyside Manor, in Wall, for their loving care for Joseph over the last two years.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 1 from 1pm – 5pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral home service will be offered at 4:30pm.
