Julia Vitale, 100, of Holmdel passed away Tuesday night surrounded by her family.
Julia was born in Brooklyn and raised in Newark. She graduated from Newark high school and shortly after would marry the love of her life, Anthony, at the age of 19. The two would start their life together in Newark before moving to Union to raise their young family. It was in Union she began her career and Pathmark grocery store; she would eventually work her way up to Management for the company.
Julia was active in the Holmdel Seniors Group, loved playing cards, dominos, and trips to Atlantic City to play craps. She loved trips to her shore house with her husband and traveling throughout the United States. Most of all Julia loved her dog, Oscar.
Julia is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years Anthony Francis Vitale.
Julia is survived by her children Anthony Vitale and his wife Jane of Colonia, Peter Richard Vitale of Barnegat and Theresa Krokosz and her husband Dennis W. of Holmdel; her grandchildren Julie, David, Matthew, Peter, Kyle and Casey; and her beloved great grandchildren Marisa, Carly, Christopher, Jessica, Matthew Jr. and Katherine.
A memorial gathering will be Sunday, November 7th from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. A mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday, November 8th at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine’s Church, 108 Middletown Rd, Holmdel. An entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
