Kathleen (Kathy) Marie Dwyer, 69, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home with her family in the early morning of Monday, October 18.
Kathy was born in Belleville on December 23rd 1951 to Patricia and the late Vincent Godleski and graduated from Belleville High School.
She began working at a very young age and spent many years as a dental and medical assistant in various practices. Kathleen met the love of her life, Thomas, at the age of 13 and they were inseparable ever since. They raised a family and lived in several different places including Belleville NJ, Nutley NJ, Richmond VA, Atlanta, GA, Simsbury CT and finally in Middletown NJ.
Kathy enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking, and most of all, the company of friends and family. She annually brought everyone together during the holidays at her and Tom’s home, always orchestrating the gathering and cooking the meals, providing a joyous atmosphere for all. Her special dishes including pasta fagioli, pasta bolognese, as well as her unique bunny cakes at Easter were a joy to experience. Kathleen especially enjoyed her almost daily excuse to shop at her local ShopRite. She loved traveling with Tom to many places, Key West being their favorite, as well as their annual vacation with their kids and grandkids to the Jersey shore.
Surviving are her husband of over 49 years Thomas K. Dwyer, her mother Patricia, her daughter Kelly and husband Daniel Voicheck from Jackson, her daughter Tara and husband Scott Voicheck of Aberdeen, her siblings Vincent Godleski, Carol Hatch, and John Godleski, as well as six loving grandchildren Amanda, Samantha, Nicole, Aiden, Lola, and Thomas and two great-grandchildren, Everly and Elowen. She is also survived by her beloved in-laws, Bill and Jeannie Dwyer, Ann and Tom Shewey, Gina Urban, Leo Dwyer and his wife Kathryn Fields and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Gathering is Friday, October 22 from 1pm – 5pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel NJ with a service at the funeral home offered at 4:30pm.
