Lillian A. Nemcik, 73, of Ocean, died on Thursday, October 26.
She was born in Brooklyn in 1950 to the late Ella and Charles John Daly.
Lillian was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School. She immediately began working after graduating, first at Standard and Poor’s and then Merrill Lynch as an administrator, all while caring for her grandmother.
Lillian was a member of several organizations including the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society, the Swedish American Society, and the Monmouth County Federation of Republican Women. She was a direct descendant of Myles Standish, and was very proud of her family history and American Indian heritage. Her family had the first sanctioned marriage by the king of England between a white man and and an American Indian woman. Lillian enjoyed cooking, especially big meals for the holidays, and shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her granddaughter.
She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother Charles J. Daly, Jr.
Surviving are her children, William Charles of Morganville, and Ella Anne and her husband William Neumann of Little Silver, and her beloved granddaughter, Lily Anna Neumann, and former husband and friend, William L. Nemcik.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30 from 4pm – 8pm, and Tuesday, October 31 from 4pm – 8pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road. A funeral home service will be offered on Monday at 7pm.
