Lillian Zimmermann, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Oceanport, NJ, on November 22, 2024. Born on June 11, 1941, in Elizabeth, NJ, Lillian lived a life defined by love, hard work, and devotion to her family, faith, and community.
A graduate of Battin High School, Lillian began her career at ESSO, now known as ExxonMobil. After dedicating many years to her roles as a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, she returned to her studies, earning an associate’s degree in accounting from Brookdale Community College and continuing her education at Rutgers-Douglass College. She balanced her academic pursuits while working for various accounting firms, exemplifying her determination and dedication.
Lillian had a passion for cooking and attended numerous gourmet classes over the years, sharing her culinary talents with loved ones. Deeply rooted in her faith, she cherished her relationship with God and contributed her time to the youth group at the United Methodist Church in Red Bank, NJ, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry; her son, Greg, (Patty), her daughter, Laura Zimmermann-Brophy, her sister Dorothy O’Brien (Gene). She was a proud grandmother to Michael, Cara, and Christian and is fondly remembered by her countless friends and family members.
A private cremation will be conducted by Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home in Long Branch, NJ. A church service to honor Lillian’s life and legacy will be announced at a later date.
Lillian’s warmth, resilience, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love and guidance leave an enduring legacy in the hearts of her family and friends.
