Lorraine Tamburro DeTulio, 94, of Oakhurst, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 31st at home.
Lorraine was born and raised in Newark, NJ and graduated from East Side High School. In 1954 she married her husband Alfred, and they resided in Newark until 1993 when they moved to Monmouth County.
Lorraine was a beautician in Hillside for many years. Before she and Alfred started their family, they enjoyed Ballroom Dancing. Lorraine enjoyed baking, and her specialty was an awesome Amaretto cake. But her real joy was baking cookies for her grandchildren. She also made homemade manicotti for the holidays, which she often celebrated with her sister, Dolores, and her family.
Lorraine was a sweet and kindhearted woman who loved all animals, especially her Doberman pinchers, and her cats.
As a VHS enthusiast, old movies, particularly Westerns, were a favorite. She recorded countless movies to watch over and over again.
Lorraine was a communicant of St. Michael’s RC Church, Long Branch, since moving to Monmouth County.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Alfred, her grandson PFC Ryan D. Christensen, her sister Dolores Melillo, along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Surviving are her children Anthony & Robin DeTulio, Colts Neck and Mark & Suzette DeTulio, Barnegat, her grandchildren John & Shannon, Anthony & Meaghan and Tiffany & Eric and her great grandchildren Chase, Troy, Alanna, Rocco, Lorenzo, Easton, Siena, Nico and Anthony, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Tuesday, February 3rd 4:00-7:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, February 4th 11:00 am at St. Michael’s RC Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. Burial to follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.
