Lucille A. Arnts, nee Rogers, passed away peacefully at home in Wanamassa on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Lucille was born in Elmira, NY, and moved to Wanamassa in 1959 with her husband of over 65 years, Otis “Ozzie†Arnts, and their sons. Lucille worked side by side with Ozzie at their two businesses, Arnts of Allenhurst Card and Gift Shop and Arnts of Allenhurst Photography. Lucille loved traveling with Ozzie to upstate New York to visit family and friends, as well as an annual trip to Ipswich, MA. Lucille was very active in the Women’s Club of Asbury Park, and she was often attending showcases of her husband’s artwork, as well as concerts being performed by her family. Lucille is predeceased by her father, Clarence Rogers, her mother, Adelaide (nee Bly) Rogers-Andrus and her stepfather, Dana Andrus. Lucille is survived by her son, Robert and his wife, Leeann, her son, William and his wife, Roxanne, her grandchildren, Alice Dobbs and her husband, Timothy, Lydia and Sam, and her great-grandson, Austin Dobbs. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Greater Shore Concert Band 50th Anniversary Carnegie Hall Fund, www.greatershoreconcertband.org (checks should be made out to Greater Shore Concert Band, memo: Lucille Arnts). The Holy Scriptures mentions that a person who lives for 80 years is especially strong. (Psalm 90:10) What a privilege that your mother lived for 96 years. May the many memories and lessons learned from her warm your heart. Take comfort in God’s promise concerning the hope of being reunited with her again and living in a world without tears where sickness and death will be no more. (Revelation 21:4)

I am so sorry for the passing of your mom, Bob and Bill, and for the loss of your grandmother, Alice. She lived a long, long life, as did her husband before her. Although I didn't know her when I lived in the area while growing up, I know that Lucille must have been one of the most amazing people on earth, because her son, one of my best friends ever, certainly is amazing - and the apple rarely falls far from the tree. She raised an amazing family and made this world a better place for that. I know her ending was very difficult - for everyone. But it is the way that she lived that counts.
