Lucille N. Schito, 78, of Aberdeen, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
She was born on December 13, 1946, to parents Charles and Nancy (neé D’Angelo) Polito in Newark. Lucille spent an idyllic childhood in East Orange before later going on to reside in Monmouth County for 42 years. She raised three children alongside her husband in Middletown, where they built a loving home together. Lucille Schito was a dearly beloved mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. The most gracious host, she was the heart of every gathering. She always endeavored to bring extended family together to laugh, share stories, and enjoy an endless amount of food. Lucille was the love of her husband’s life since the day he laid eyes on her. She made everyone in her life feel understood, special, and truly treasured. Her contagious laugh lit up every room, and her effortless warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Nothing made her happier than cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, dance recitals, and concerts. Lucille also expressed an unwavering faith in God throughout the entirety of her life, a lifestyle she passed on and instilled in much of her family. Her legacy of honest love and togetherness will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nancy Polito. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Mario Schito; her loving children, Mario Schito Jr. and his wife Denise, Lisa Vitale and her husband Michael, and Toni Liskiewicz and her husband Larry; her sister, Joan Columbo; her ten grandchildren, Alex, Isabella, Michael, Giovanna, Marina, Claire, Brooke, Brianna, Christina, and Madison, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:15 A.M. at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, 50 Hurley’s Lane, Lincroft. Entombment will follow at the Holmdel Cemetery & Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
