Gibson left a message on May 23, 2025:
I was Max’s friend during his time in Colorado, and fellow MBA class mate, and I just want to say how sad it makes me to know that we have lost such a good soul. Max immediately endeared himself to everyone in our 100 person class and I took a personal liking to him as we shared stories of living in NYC. He was always very generous, had a truly kind smile, and always a joy to be around. My most readily available memory is spending a snowy evening with Max, just the two of us, in the basement of his downtown Boulder home watching Rick & Morty and just laughing our faces off. He was one of the few people that I felt fully comfortable around and we shared a sense of humor. Being with max made me feel at home even though I had only known him for maybe 2-3 months at the time. I also remember spending a weekend with him and some other friends at his place in beaver creek. He was always very humble and just wanted all of us to enjoy what he had access to through his family. What a nice man Max was. I am so terribly sorry for your loss and I will be thinking of Max and his family on this Memorial Day weekend. May peace be with you all.

Alexandra Betesh left a message on May 2, 2025:
Max was a little brother to all of us. He was always vibrant, always excited for an adventure and to get involved. I will never forget when Laura, Max and I performed in a talent show at Pine Grove camp. We played “Macho Macho Man” and despite being the smallest of us, he played the role of macho man well. Flexing his muscles and wearing a stuffed shirt—he wore a huge smile and captured the hearts of the entire crowd, as Laura and I struggled through our coordinated performance. Max was a class act and a gem and I will never forget him.

I don’t even know where to begin. When I read about this tragic passing my heart broke. When me and max met we were like brothers. Spent a lot of time together playing soccer going to Colorado to go skiing driving the go cart around the driveway like it was a racetrack and felt like we were professional drivers to going to jenks for teen night. There are a lot of memories that I still think to this day. You and your family welcomed me in with loving arms and made me feel like I was a part of the family. Love you brother going to miss you dearly

Max was the cool kid. I was the newcomer at school and Max was the first to befriend me when I knew no one. We became lightning fast friends and formed a special bond as we grew up together. He treated me like a brother and in turn his family became an extension of my own- summers together, vacations all over, holidays, so many great memories. As the youngest, Max always wanted to be older like his big sisters. He instilled in me that yearning to grow, with him, and to learn and mature as a young adult. It’s painful to know he’s gone but I haven’t lost that bit of Max in my soul. He’ll continue to brighten my life in ways I don’t fully understand and that’s a beautiful thing. To Marshall and Janice, Emily, Jenny, and Laura- my heart breaks for you. Sending you much love and strength.
