Melvin Weiner 89 , of Long Branch, died on Tuesday July 11th at Monmouth Medical Center.
Mr. Weiner was born and raised in New York City. He served his country honorably as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He married in 1953 and lived most of his life in Long Branch.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at The College of the City of New York and took a job at Fort Monmouth working there till his retirement. He also continued his education by earning three master’s degrees at the Polytechnic Institute of New York in Computer Sciences and Operations Research. He was a member of Congregation B’nai Shalom and then Congregation Torat El, Oakhurst.
Melvin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 60 years , Anne in 2014.
Melvin is survived by his daughters, Eileen Buriani and her husband Ted, West Long Branch and Dr. Sharon Weiner and Vincent Masi, Long Branch; his sister Florence Weiner, N.Y.C. and his brother, Seymour Weiner, Flushing, NY; and his four grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Teddy and Hayley.
