Michael J. Donohue Sr., 86, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Lincroft NJ. Born and raised in Manhattan, New York City, Michael also spent many years living in Dumont and Lavallette NJ, before settling in Lakewood.

“Big Mike”, as he was commonly known, was an avid fisherman and golfer, who especially cherished his trips to the Florida Keys and Myrtle Beach where he enjoyed vacationing with his family and friends, making lasting memories.

Big Mike was a proud member of Local One, IUEC, and retired after many years of service as an elevator constructor.

Michael is survived by his wife, Margaret Donohue; his sons, Michael J. Donohue Jr. and wife Dana, and Peter Donohue; and his four grandchildren, Sophia, Lindsay, Kate and Aidan.

Michael will be privately cremated.
