Michael J. Giordano, 94, of Lincroft, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael attended Midwood High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. Following his military service, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Pratt Institute and Master’s Degree from Wagner College. He had a successful career working for the City of New York and private companies as a Developer’s Representative for high rise construction projects in New York City. While at Olympia & York, he worked on his favorite project, construction of the World Financial Center complex, Winter Garden and waterfront promenade (now known as Brookfield Place).

In 1965, Michael married his best friend and love of his life, Julene. Together they built a beautiful home, raised two children, and celebrated 61 years of marriage filled with laughter and love.

When Michael retired, he volunteered helping the elderly with home repairs and crafting custom furniture to improve their quality of life. He also renovated a historical cemetery in Lincroft dating back to the Civil War, a project for which he was recognized as Lincroft’s Man of the Year.

Michael had many interests, including boating, fishing, gardening, and traveling. He loved taking cruises with his family, especially to Bermuda. Michael was an avid reader, with a particular focus on the history of World War II. A creative and talented woodworker, Michael loved bringing joy to family and friends with his thoughtfully crafted gifts. He had a strong faith and was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Lincroft for over 48 years. Michael was a great sports fan, joyous when the Giants won the Super Bowl and never missing a Mets game, but Michael’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Julene, his devoted daughters, Joanne Wireman and her husband, Michael, and Christine Giordano, and his cherished grandsons, Evan, Christopher and Luke. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, NJ. Interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery & Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ.
